Christine Kyhn

Christine Kyhn began her formal study of music at the age of 5 in the San Francisco Bay Area where she grew up. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance from California State University at Hayward, studying with Kenneth Mansfield, Dr. Donald King-Smith, and Dr. David Stein. Her studies focused on Piano, Organ, and Voice. She earned the Colleague of the American Guild of Organists Certificate in 1985 and has completed the three levels of training with the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, a three-pronged approach to music education incorporating music, movement, and language.

Christine’s musical career has included 30 years of teaching in both private and public school settings. She has developed and directed children’s choir programs in Oregon, California, Colorado, and Arizona. She is also a prolific and accomplished writer and arranger for both church and school. Christine is currently the Principle Organist at Congregational Church of Sun City. She is also the Principle Accompanist for both the West Valley Chorale, directed by Ken Goodenburger, and the Scottsdale Christian Academy choral program, directed by Dr. Tom Bookhout. Christine is the Department Head of the vocal program at Rosie’s House Music Academy, and is the director of the five choirs and two vocal labs.
