David Ginn grew up in rural Pennsylvania and graduated from Susquehanna University with his bachelor’s in music education in 2011. Although he studied trombone and voice primarily, he has been playing guitar since the age of 10. His instant love of guitar combined with leadership opportunities in both high school marching band and choir sparked his passion for music education.
After graduating university, David began his career as a middle school band and choir director in the Madison district where he taught for three years. In 2014 he took on the role of guitar ensemble director for the Phoenix Union High School District teaching at both Betty Fairfax High School and, currently, Alhambra High School.
David has had many fulfilling musical experiences in Phoenix while playing in the South Mountain CC Latin Jazz Big Band and singing in the Sonoran Desert Chorale. He was fortunate to have had great music instruction from caring and dedicated teachers through his youth and college and is grateful to be able to pay it forward by sharing his passion for music with his students. David currently lives in Glendale with his wife Mary and their cat Luma. In their free time, they love hiking and travelling.
