Joanna Burrell

Joanna Burrell, serving as the Development Manager at Rosie’s House, manages institutional giving and partnerships, annual giving communication strategy, and special events. She comes to Rosie’s House with a unique blend of experience spanning over a decade as a professional fundraiser, musician and teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Young Harris College and a Master of Music degree from Georgia State University. Prior to Rosie’s House, Joanna gained fundraising experience with Arizona Opera managing individual giving and annual giving programs and with Arizona State University Foundation providing strategic planning and campaign oversight for the annual fund of six schools within the university, as well as, ASU Cultural Affairs including ASU Gammage, contributing to fundraising efforts totaling $350 million annually. Before that, Joanna performed opera both nationally and internationally in Germany and Greece, while maintaining a private music studio. Born and raised in a rural and underdeveloped region of Georgia with little to no access to private music lessons or music opportunities, she personally developed a strong passion for the importance of music education and accessibility for youth. She is thrilled to continue her advocacy for music accessibility by helping to secure the resources needed to eliminate barriers to high-quality music education.
