Kevin Gorman, D.M.A.

Kevin Gorman brings to Rosie’s House a fusion of his passion for music education and performance with over a decade of experience in business and finance administration and facility management. In past years, Dr. Gorman has overseen thousands of events, meetings, and classes at a busy city block-wide downtown campus in the Phoenix Mid-Town Arts District, implementing the reservations of facilities for many top-level classical music organizations including the Phoenix Symphony and Chorus, the Phoenix Chamber Music Society, the Orpheus Male Chorus, MusicaNova Orchestra, the Phoenix Boys Choir, and the Arizona Bach Festival.

Gorman’s skills in the day-to-day business and financial operations of a music-oriented facility is complemented with his extensive background in music. He holds a Doctorate in Saxophone Performance from Arizona State University and has performed as orchestral saxophonist with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, the Las Vegas Philharmonic, the Arizona Musicfest Orchestra, the Sun City Symphony, Symphony of the Southwest, the West Valley Symphony, the Sierra Vista Symphony, and the Sonoran Desert Chorale, among others. In the realm of music education, Gorman has served as the instructor of saxophone at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and several schools in the Phoenix Metro area. He also edited and published the instructional textbook The Saxophonist as Rank Beginner and Beyond.

As a native Phoenician, Gorman is thrilled to now be a part of the distinguished Phoenix institution that is Rosie’s House. Through his capacity as Operations Director, he seeks to enhance and enrich the musical life of each student in the program by providing a learning environment that is secure, stable, welcoming, professional, and of the utmost quality. He views his role as one of service to the Rosie’s House staff, faculty, students, and the community at large, and regards his responsibilities as both a valuable and unique fulfillment of his professional experience.
