Megan Evans, D.M.A.
Megan (Meggie) Evans is a prizewinner in numerous competitions, and she shows passion and fortitude in her performances. Meggie was chosen to perform as a soloist in the La Sierra University Concerto Competition in 2015 with that orchestra. Other prizes include the VOCE-Redlands Division and La Sierra University’s Promising Young Artists Competition. She recently served as a guest artist at the Saarburg International Music Festival in Germany. Meggie also is the Concertmaster for MCO (Millennial Choirs and Orchestras) Arizona, and enjoys playing in various orchestras like the AZ Philharmonic. Her chamber and orchestral performances have taken her to Japan, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Iceland, Czech Republic, France, and Jamaica.
An experienced teacher, Evans has taught private students and group lessons for over ten years, and has directed and taught at music summer camps at La Sierra University and the University of Redlands. Her students have won numerous awards, including acceptance into the All-Southern California Honor Orchestra. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with her students, and loves to see them sharing their gift of music with their friends and family!
Meggie is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Violin Performance at Arizona State University, studying with Dr. Katherine McLin. A double threat, she earned her Masters of Music Performance in Violin and Clarinet in 2021 at the University of Denver, as well as a Suzuki Violin Pedagogy Certificate. She completed her Bachelor’s of Music in Violin and Clarinet Performance, with honors, at La Sierra University in 2017. She was awarded “Outstanding Senior of the Year” in Music Performance as well. Evans has been featured in masterclasses by the esteemed Joseph Silverstein, Elmar Oliveria, Arturo Delmoni, and Elaine Skorodin.
