Christina Chambers
Christina is true Phoenician (in spirit, even if not by birth), with an always-positive outlook, a seemingly unlimited supply of energy, and an earnest commitment for helping people in ways both small and large.
Christina’s unique personal experiences as a child no doubt played a significant role in who she is today. She was raised in a home where the power and import of music was made a central value. Her parents, Dr. Robert and Nancy Spetzler, are both talented musicians and hard workers who have lived a life dedicated to helping others. They both taught music lessons to help put themselves through school (her father, piano and her mother, flute), pursued personal excellence in all endeavors, and sought out opportunities to give back. Christina was impressed early and often with the importance of caring for our entire community, particularly those with disadvantage circumstances. These same values define the woman that Christina is today: harmony, hard-work, excellence, understanding, and compassion.
Christina is a brilliant and dynamic woman, with strong relationships throughout the Valley, and a vast toolkit of attributes and talents, all of which serve our Board well. Christina attended Hopi as a young child, one year at Ingleside, and then Phoenix Country Day School (PCDS) from 8th grade through high school graduation. Christina attended the University of San Diego where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She went on to complete post-graduate studies in medicine at both the University of Arizona and Georgetown University. Christina concluded her studies with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. Returning to Phoenix in the early 2000’s, Christina married Andy Chambers, an attorney at longtime Phoenix law firm Jennings Strouss and Salmon. Together, they are raising two amazing children, Abigail and Wilson, in a home full of love, art, literature, and lots of music.
Christina previously served as Director for the Early Education Cooperative Preschool Board from 2015-2018. She also served on and was then Chairperson for the EEC Parent Committee and Fundraising Committee, where she led several of the most successful fundraising campaigns in the school’s history.
Outside of family and community, Christina enjoys many things. She is a talented athlete (PCDS Hall of Fame), multi-disciplined artist, dedicated musician, expansive thinker, compassionate listener, and great friend to all.
