Angela Garcia

Angela Garcia is a Rosie’s House alumna and is excited to now be part of the Rosie’s House team. Angela has loved music from a very young age. Angela began her music studies by enrolling in choir at Rosie’s House at age 5. One year later, she was ready to begin playing an instrument and she started her long journey with the violin. Angela is interested in a wide variety of music, but her main focus of study was Classical music and Mariachi. At the age of 12 she joined Rosie’s House Mariachi ensemble and also was accepted to play with a Mariachi ensemble at Arizona State University. This opened up many opportunities to play with various ensembles from other local community colleges.

In the fifth grade, Angela enrolled at Arizona School for the Arts (ASA) where she started playing the cello and piano. The cello became her big new passion. She simultaneously started private cello lessons and playing in the string quartet at Rosie’s House. As a freshman in high school, she was first chair in her school’s chamber orchestra as well as first chair in the District Honor Orchestra. Getting involved in more classes allowed her to perform in many places which she enjoyed including hospitals, Desert Botanical Garden, and Phoenix Art Museum. Most of these opportunities were accessible through the community service that Rosie’s House provides locally. Being a Rosie’s House student taught her leadership, teamwork and responsibility. Angela is currently enrolled at Paradise Valley Community College majoring in Forensic Science. Music will always be a big part of her life.
